VELUX DSL Solar Blackout Roller Blind — Description
The original VELUX DSL solar powered blackout roller blind provides total darkness with the convenience of remote control. It is completely wireless, powered by the sun, and fits perfectly into your roof window. It is the perfect choice for bedrooms, children’s rooms, or out-of-reach windows. Designed to fit popular models like VELUX GGL or GGU (e.g. MK04, M06, S06).
The blind features a built-in solar cell and comes with a wireless wall switch (included). No wiring is required for installation. It moves in slim aluminum side guides preventing light leakage.
Please note: Installing a VELUX MHL external awning blind together with the solar-powered DSL roller blind is not recommended, as the awning blind fabric can shade the solar panel and reduce charging efficiency.
If, besides complete blackout, you need better thermal insulation, choose the VELUX FSC Solar Pleated Blind (honeycomb structure). Its inner aluminum coating reduces heat loss in winter and improves summer comfort more effectively than standard blackout fabrics. Check out the VELUX FSC Solar Blackout Energy Blind.

Care and Cleaning
The material is easy to clean. Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge with warm water. Do not use strong detergents. The solar cell requires no maintenance but should be kept free of dirt for optimal charging.

FAQ: VELUX DSL Solar Roller Blind (Expert Answers)
Do I need to run electric cables to my window for the DSL blind?
No. The VELUX DSL roller blind is 100% wireless. It is powered by a built-in solar cell and battery. Installation is just as easy as with a manual blind, and no electrician is required.
Will the blind work at night or on cloudy days?
Yes. The solar cell charges a high-capacity battery that stores energy. The blind can perform up to 600 operations on a single charge, ensuring reliable operation day and night, even if the sun hasn’t shone for days.
Does the blind fit a VELUX GGL 304 3059? What does 3059 mean?
Yes. Just like our manual blinds, the solar DSL model fits older windows too. If you have a GGL 304 (variant 3059 or other), simply select the equivalent size M04 in the configurator. The blind is compatible with both old and new window generations.
Can I operate the blind manually if I lose the remote?
Yes. The VELUX DSL blind still has a handle bar at the bottom. You can manually pull it down or push it up if necessary, for example during a power failure or if the remote is not at hand.
I have a VELUX GGU MK04 window with code 0070. Does this fit?
Yes. The window code 0070 indicates a white polyurethane window. Simply select size MK04. The solar roller blind fits all standard VELUX window codes (0070, 0060, 3059, etc.).
