VELUX FSC Solar Energy Blackout Pleated Blind — Description
The solar-powered VELUX FSC blackout energy pleated blind is a premium, wireless solution that combines total blackout with exceptional thermal insulation. It features a unique double-pleated honeycomb cloth with an inner aluminum coating. This structure effectively blocks light and improves indoor comfort by keeping warmth in during winter—all controlled with a remote.
Equipped with a built-in solar cell and battery, the VELUX FSC is independent of any external power source. The blind is fixed at the top and runs in slim side rails, allowing you to lower it to any position to control light and privacy. It comes with a pre-paired wireless wall switch for easy operation.
The blind runs in slim side rails (available in white or natural aluminum) that prevent light leakage at the edges.
Please note: Installing a VELUX MHL external awning blind together with the solar-powered FSC pleated blind is not recommended, as the awning blind fabric can shade the solar panel and reduce charging efficiency.

FAQ: VELUX FSC Solar Energy Blackout Pleated Blind (Expert Answers)
Does the FSC solar pleated blind require any electrical wiring?
No. The VELUX FSC is a completely wireless solar-powered pleated blind. It uses a built-in battery charged by daylight. You don’t need an electrician or any cables, making it perfect for both new and retrofitted windows. The VELUX FSC pleated blind package also includes a wireless switch for wall mounting near the pleated blind.
Will the blind work during the night or on cloudy days?
Yes. The solar cell charges a battery that stores enough energy for up to 600 operations. This ensures that the blind works perfectly at night and during long periods of cloudy weather.
How does the FSC pleated blind improve winter insulation?
The double-pleated honeycomb fabric features an internal aluminum coating. This creates an insulating layer of air that prevents heat from escaping through the glass, which can improve insulation by up to 26% during cold winter months.
Is the solar blind adjustable from top and bottom?
No. The VELUX FSC solar pleated blind is fixed to the top of the window frame and rolls down like a standard roller blind. If you require a flexible “Flying Pleat” system (adjustable from both top and bottom), please choose the manually operated VELUX FHC model.
